I've put some miles on the Vito Tourer 116 CDI, figured I’d drop some thoughts here. On the motorway, it’s smooth and pulls strong even packed with people, so no worries about keeping up or merging fast. Fuel economy’s actually not bad for a chunk of metal this size, especially with that BlueEfficiency option. Seats don’t swivel or fold flat like I’d want for some trips, and getting them out by hand isn’t easy, especially for one person. Interior’s more van than car, kinda sturdy but don’t expect fancy-fine for hauling work crews but nobody’s gonna think it’s posh. Still, it drives better than I expected from something based on a van. No real drama with maintenance yet, though I guess it could get pricey down the line being a Mercedes.

I drove the 2.0 diesel RWD Tourer (9-speed auto) for a week of long runs and some city work. On the move it’s honestly pretty sorted. Steering feels light at low speed but it places the van well, and the suspension is a good mix: doesn’t crash over rough bits, doesn’t lean too much either. The RWD setup helps it feel clean coming out of junctions when it’s got weight in it.

The 9G-Tronic box is the type you leave alone. It just shifts and you get on with driving. Power is more than enough in the higher outputs, I’d probably stick to the mid one for normal work.

Downsides: visibility isn’t great because of the narrow windows, and the cabin still shows its age in layout even though the screen upgrade helps a lot. Also worth saying, choice is limited now (only RWD, no short model), so if you need a certain size you might end up looking elsewhere.

Drove a Vito Tourer (long wheelbase) for a mix of airport runs and family jobs. First thing you notice is it doesn’t feel like an old-school van from the seat. Steering is pretty precise, suspension feels sorted, and the 9-speed auto keeps it calm on the motorway.

Inside is the big win. Lots of light with those big windows, and the seats have proper support. The 9-seat setup is handy and the 2nd/3rd row folding and swivelling makes it easy to switch from people to gear fast. With all seats up you still get room for suitcases, which matters when everyone turns up with "small" bags.

Downside: it’s pricey and you feel it when you look at running costs. Also it’s not the most fuel-sipping thing in this class, so if you’re doing big miles every week, you’ll notice.

I've been running shuttles in London for over 12 years, so I've seen my share of big MPVs. The Vito Tourer's interior is honestly one step up from most. Plenty of space, feels like someone actually cared about materials for once, nothing scratchy or cheap inside. Passengers always mention how light it is inside - panoramic windows make a real difference on long drives. I wish the price was lower though, it does sting compared to something like a Ford Transit. Also, fuel costs add up, don't expect miracles there. Still, the ride is comfy and the seating flexibility (swivel, fold, all that) is great for changing up your cargo or passenger layout.

Been clocking a lot of hours behind the wheel of the Vito Tourer lately. It’s not flashy inside but it just works. Seat’s comfy enough for long hauls, and the steering wheel is pretty standard, nothing gets in the way. Controls are simple, I don’t get lost hunting for buttons. Climate control keeps the cabin cool, even when I’m packed full with 8 passengers. Boot’s spacious, but if you go with 9 seats, don’t expect much room for luggage. Fuel use is decent for a van this size, hovers around 6 liters per 100km, not bad. Noticed the ride’s a bit stiff when the van’s empty, better with some weight in the back. No weird squeaks or rattles so far. Never had a breakdown, though servicing at authorized dealers isn’t cheap, classic Mercedes. Not perfect, but for daily work, does the job.
